Jñānasāgara

Jñānasāgara (2006) (6:00) Prelude No. 2 for piano solo

Popean, Mihai. Jñānasāgara (2006) (6:00) Prelude for piano solo Op. 14 Invictus No. 2

Program notes

Jñānasāgara is a homage to the lifestory of Tibetan Princess Yeshe Tsogyal of Karchen, one of the most important female figures of the Tibetan tradition in the past thirteen centuries. Her writing skills, extraordinary dedication and tenacity in discovering the truth of self-emancipation still stand as a vivid example up until today. In performing this prelude, it is important to maintain extreme clarity in defining each and every sound both dynamically as well as part of vertical chord structures, as well as the different thematic layers.
